The FAT is generally customized to suit the asset type, and so a good understanding of the Client’s specification, the test procedures and set up, along with the acceptance criteria is paramount in ensuring the new equipment will be fit for purpose.

If a test failure occurs, it is also necessary to have the skills and experience to resolve it with the Client’s interests at the fore.
Often the test failures are not huge but can have a long-term impact on the equipment’s operational capability.

New equipment may also pass the testing, but it may not be compliant with the specification or the Standards, hence a keen eye and experience is used to look at detail to ensure everything a Client expects has been assessed.
This is most important when the OEM is in a foreign country and is not as familiar with the Australian Standards or operating conditions.
